Bugles is a big, incredibly sweet boy who has just arrived in our care and is ready for a fresh start and a family to call his own. If there’s one thing to know about Bugles, it’s this: people are his whole world.

At the shelter, while other dogs bounced and wrestled, Bugles preferred the simple joy of being near humans. He happily joined playgroups but chose the role of calm observer and friendly mingler rather than rough-and-tumble participant. His true happiness comes from companionship — leaning in for affection, quietly hanging out, and soaking up love wherever he can find it.

As he decompresses from shelter life, Bugles is still learning that the world can feel safe again. Busy leash walks are currently overwhelming for him, so his ideal home would include a secure yard where he can stretch his long legs, explore at his own pace, and build confidence without pressure.

Because he’s still settling in, Bugles may thrive as the only dog for now, or in a home able to support slow, thoughtful introductions with a resident pup. What he truly needs most, though, is his person — someone home often who can offer patience, reassurance, and plenty of snuggles while he adjusts to his new life.
