In a Nutshell: Gene is such a sweet pea. He loves a good couch snuggle and is an amazing nap buddy. But he will also lay down on his own bed with a squeakie toy or bone and enjoy some solo time. He is house-trained and usually goes right by the door when he needs to go out. He knows the cue "potty" already and goes out to the same spot everyday.
He's great on leash, is highly treat motivated, and doesn't appear to show any signs of resource guarding or aggression when nervous. Gene is also very dog friendly and adores our other dog - he wants to be around her all the time. While I think he'd be a great solo dog since he's already so confident, he also would love to have a buddy who is his size or likes to play.
He does have a high-pitch bark, but even in the short time we've had him, we've noticed it's either for potty or a quick play (usually 5 minutes of throwing a toy and he passes out again!) Though sometimes at night he likes to bark to go out and it might be tricky in an apartment setting. He's very easy to read and is such a hilarious guy to have around.
He will be available for adoption beginning with the Worth the Wait List prior to general adoption applications.
