Waluga

Waluga is still in the care of her returning guardians and is seeking either a new adopter or a foster/foster-to-adopt. Read on for more info about her!

Age: 2.5 years

Weight: 51 lbs

Sex: Female

Breed Stated on Paperwork: Bulldog mix

Dogs: No

Cats: No

Kids: Loves kids!

In a Nutshell: Waluga is a magical, delightful creature. She is extremely playful and also great at matching energy. She loves people and attention, and when getting scratches she can barely hold herself together from the excitement. She is definitely looking for her special person to form a close bond with. She loves her ball and her favorite games include fetch, tug, and the treat dispenser toy.

Due to a high prey drive, Waluga needs to be the only animal in a home with a fenced backyard. But what you lose in dog and cat (and squirrel) pals she more than makes up for with her goofy personality and love of all people she meets, including kids. She’s been living with two children under 10 for the past several months and has done great with them - she is tolerant, patient, playful, and gentle with the kids.

Waluga is super food motivated, which helps make training a breeze. She’s smart and eager to learn, fully potty-trained, and super snuggly. She is happy all the time, body wiggling with joy when you enter the room, feed her, or even just say her name.

Waluga is currently still with her returning guardians. They adopted back in October and are pursuing a return now due to her high prey drive (which led to an incident with a dog in their neighborhood). We will share more about this to anyone who might be interested in fostering or adopting Waluga, but the TL;DR is that Waluga needs to be your one-and-only and needs a private backyard space to get outdoor time and potty breaks without the needs for leashed walks.

We are seeking either a new foster home so we can welcome her back into OTAT care; or to facilitate a direct adoption from the returning adopter to a new adopter. Foster-to-adopt is also, absolutely, an option!

If you have an animal-free home with fenced backyard and are interested in fostering Waluga (whether to adopt or not), please email us at foster@otatpdx.org.

If your home is a fit and you might be interested in adopting Waluga, just apply below (or add her to your interest list, if you already have an adoption survey on file) and we’ll reach out with more info.
